LONDON,(PIC)-- The Palestinian Forum in Britain
organized, on Wednesday, a sit-in outside the Israeli embassy in London as a
part of continuing solidarity activities in support of Palestinian prisoners
since two weeks where the Forum organized in coordination with number of British
organizations solidarity activities outside the British Parliament and 10
Downing Street.
The Forum and a number of British solidarity
organizations had handed a letter to Prime Minister David Cameron asking him to
pressure the Israeli occupation government to respond to the prisoners'
humanitarian demands.
Zaher Birawi, spokesman and public relations officer,
said that the Forum will continue organizing such solidarity activities as long
as prisoners are engaged in the battle of empty stomachs, which defends the
Palestinian people dignity.
Birawi confirmed that the activities commemorating
the 64th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba will start on Saturday 12 May
under the slogan "We will not forget Palestine...Freedom for the prisoners of
freedom".
The Nakba commemoration is organised by the
Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Friends of Al-Aqsa, British Muslim Initiative,
Palestinian Forum in Britain and Stop the War Coalition. And is supported by:
Architects and Planners for Justice in Palestine (APJP), CAABU, CND, CWU, FBU,
Green Party, GUPS UK, Haldane Society of Socialist Lawyers, ICAHD UK, Lawyers
for Palestinian Human Rights, Liberal Democrat Friends of Palestine, London BDS,
PCS, Viva Palestina, War on Want and Zaytoun.
