Pakistan and
Turkey on Tuesday signed nine documents for cooperation in various
fields particularly investments, energy and communications in a bid to
further strengthen their bilateral relationship.Prime Minister Syed
Yusuf Raza Gilani and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan
witnessed the signing of accords at a ceremony held here at the Prime
Minister House. The documents included an Agreement on bilateral
investment, five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) mainly on energy,
education and communication and two protocols on Joint Ministerial
Commission and cooperation on archives.The Agreement concerning the
reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments was signed by
Chairman Board of Investment, Saleem Mandviwala and Turkey’s Economic
Minister, Zafar Caglayan.The MoU between the Ministry of Transport and
Communications of Turkey and Pakistan’s Ministry of Communications on
cooperation in the field of International Road Transport was signed by
Turkish Transport Minister, Binali Yildrim and Minister for
Communications, Arbab Alamgir Khan.
