Dozens wounded in Ofer clashes, Canadian young woman arrested

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Dozens of Palestinian demonstrators were wounded in the Israeli occupation forces’ violent quelling of their march marking 64th anniversary of Nakba near the Ofer jail on Tuesday.
Sources at the Palestinian Red Crescent said that 63 citizens were evacuated by ambulance teams including eight injured with rubber bullets while the 55 others were treated for breathing problems as a result of the IOF extensive use of tear gas.
Young men participating in the central Palestinian Nakba march in Ramallah city decided to proceed to Ofer jail where they burnt tires and chanted slogans against occupation.
21 other casualties were reported in similar confrontations near Qalandia roadblock between Ramallah and occupied Jerusalem including seven with rubber bullets.
Meanwhile, IOF troops blocked the return march that was organized from Nilin village to Ramle city in 1948 occupied Palestine and attacked participants.
Local sources said that the IOF soldiers arrested three young men including Rana Hammad, a Canadian young woman of Palestinian origin.
