Look, they are healthy, armed, and the law is at their hands. Uniform is their ‘license to kill’ and their affiliation with security forces is their biggest protection from any kind of accountability. They are literally beyond every law. Rather they are themselves the law of the land.
I wonder why the media men are in fools’ paradise and why they think they would be bringing the perpetrators of the barbaric act to justice and would ensure justice to the family of Sarfaraz, who was brutally killed by Rangers personnel in broad daylight at the busiest thoroughfare of the posh area of the city. To be very honest, I think this is our misconception. What has been done over the killing of Saleem Shehzad so far? What difference our condemnations, protest, rallies and columns make. In face of the helpless cry of media, nothing but lips services is being done by those at the helms of affairs, who are constitutionally-bound to ensure security of life and property of ours. Where is the judicial commission, which was announced by no other than the Interior Minister to probe the killing of Saleem Shehzad.
In this country, the gun-wielding especially those from forces are law of the land and they are not bothered to follow any law made by the ‘bloody civilians.’ Let me tell you my dear colleagues in media that you can’t do anything except making hue and cry for a few days and then there will be another gory incident which compelled you to shift your focus from that.
You will be blaming me for spreading despondency in the society. Yes, I am disappointed by the people and waiting for someone who could pool the frustration among the people. We need to pool the anger and frustration among the people and turned it into force, and use it for a positive change. We need to take a peaceful avenge from the incumbent barbaric system by bringing a peaceful and positive revolution in the society. And this needs concerted and consistent efforts with proper planning.
