Pakistanis are the most unfortunate nation in the world. Not because of poverty, not because of high inflation, not because of poor law and order. We have had all these things for decades. We are the most unfortunate nation because we have the most stupid Prime Minister that this world may ever have produced.
He knows that he does not know English well enough to speak in English to those whose first language is English. But he still does speak in English to them and makes mistakes. He once said in the United States during a press briefing that there were “hand-picked militants” in Pakistan when he meant to say “handful of militants”.
He declard immediately after the news about Osama’s death broke that it was a great victory, words which his more thought out statements later contradicted. It was the most stupid thing to say because it was an operation in which his government had no role (they haven’t yet owned it even if they did know about it).
But perhaps the most idiotic statement was reserved for the attack on a Mehran naval base in Karachi. Visiting the injured at a hospital, our dearest Prime Minister said that this was a “cowardly act”. Why doesn’t he know what words should be used where? The words “cowardly act” are used if an organisation attacks unarmed citizens. But he used these words for an attack in which the attackers were almost certain of their death because they had attacked military men in their own building. These words would have been appropriate for a bombing in a bazaar or a park or any other public place. Attacking military men in their own building cannot be called a cowardly act. What pathetic choice of words, indeed! It seems he has rote learned these words to say after every attack.
The list of his follies is a long one. All his stupidities can’t be repated here. But these three that I have mentioned here, I am sure, are enough to make you pray that we get somebody else for the seat of Prime Minister.
